Jonathan and Drew Scott are known for their roles on HGTV. They have co-hosted “Buying and Selling” and “Property Brothers.”  On these shows, Drew is the brother that deals with families and their search for homes, while Jonathan does the renovations that may need to done, either to sell a house or to make a house a dream home.

When these two were born, they were a complete surprise to their mother. Doctors could not hear two separate heartbeats because the two boys’ hearts were beating in synchronization. The two twins are the sons of Jim Scott who worked in films as an actor and assistant director.  After his family was begun, he decided to leave the film industry so that he could give his attention to the family. The mother of the Scott boys is Joanne who was a paralegal.

Andrew Alfred Scott and Jonathan Silver Scott were born in Vancouver, Canada. The two boys began acting in the theatre at the age of seven.  While they were small, Drew fell into a fireplace leaving a scar on his forehead. Before too much longer, Jonathan repeated this act, resulting in a similar scar. The two boys are so much alike, that even their mother has difficulty telling them apart. She claims that the only way she can separate them is through their vocabulary. She claims that Jonathan uses larger words in his conversation.

Drew also tried his hand in improve and sketch comedy. As time progressed, Jonathan acted in the television shows “Smallville,” Breaker High” and “Madison.”

During this time, Jonathan worked weekends as an apprentice clown. He made his move to television when he performed in “X-Files.”  With this taste of acting, Drew felt a desire to direct, and produce, television shows or films. This led to his promoting and producing independent films and television shows, in addition, he won many awards for his magic skills.

When the two boys were in college they decided to buy a house to remodel and resell. They made a nice profit from the sale which encouraged them to go back to college in design and in home construction. It also led them to begin further investing in real estate to raise funds for projects they took a part in. Eventually, the boys, along with their older brother formed Dividian Production Group in 2004. Many of their films have made the rounds at film festivals. Jonathan also produced several film and television galas such as Leo Film and TV Awards and the Producers’ Ball during the Toronto International Film Festivals.  Drew would produce and promote shows.

Eventually the three brothers formed Scott Real Estate, Inc. This business also was very successful. One of the philosophies that the brothers have is that when they have a disagreement, they state their differences and then go on with their lives.

Today Jonathan and Drew are co-hosts of the HGTV show “Property Brothers” where they help families obtain their dream homes without breaking their budgets.

They also have a philanthropic side. They have helped operations which work with Children’s Hospitals, and Paul Haggis Artists for Peace and Justice. In addition, they look for areas where they can assist underprivileged youths.
